Employee Spotlight: Shu Juan Lee

Adventurous. Loyal. Trustworthy. These are the three words that best describe Shu Juan. 2021 marks her tenth year working at Precursor, in which her career path in the company has evolved throughout the years. She started in the audit team for seven years, progressing from a junior role to a managerial position. She is now leading the Business Process Outsourcing team, which primarily  with a team of skilled people. 

When asked about what her favourite thing about working at Precursor, she said;

How long have you been with Precursor, and what do you do here ?

I joined Precursor in April 2011, and this year is my tenth year with the company. I work on numbers every day. It may seem a little boring to most people, but to me, delivering quality financials with an expected/unexpected timeline to keep up with clients' statutory compliance due dates is a form of accomplishments, and I enjoy doing it.

What do you think are your strongest traits?

I am Flexible and Determined.

What do you like most about your job?

I feel that learning has never been a pause for me. Precursor provides different variety of learning opportunities and career progression to me, which I am grateful for.

What is the best career lesson you've learned so far?

If you have a goal, you need to work hard and smart to achieve it. No pain, no gain.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

I love to exercise! Yoga, workouts and many more. My recent newfound hobby is listening to Podcasts.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren't doing this?

I would probably be setting up a business or a be a veterinarian. 

What is your usual source of inspiration when you tackle a difficult problem ahead?

“Don’t be afraid, hang on! You will get it done soon!”

What's a fun fact about you that many people may not know?

I used to be in TAF (not Trim-and-Fit, it is the FAT club) during my primary school days, and I was forced to jog around the school compound every day after school. 

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I would love to be a Jumper (teleporter), and I could tick several countries off my bucket list if that happens.

What is something that you could have told your younger self if you had the chance?

“You should start working hard, like now. The future lies on you.”

What is your personal philosophy? Or a motto in life or career that you follow close to your heart?

Respect is earned. I genuinely believe that how people treat you is a reflection of how you treat people. Live in the present moment, and be appreciative of the people around you and your own life.
